International Adoption

I am exploring...any insight? I applied online to Bethany Adoptions...but honestly, I have no idea how to begin.

I have always wanted to adopt internationally. I have been on a few missionary trips (Swaziland, Costa Rica, Bosnia...) and had to control myself into NOT stealing a child and bringing them home. So, why not explore.

I would be thrilled to get pregnant and have an adopted baby at the same time....fun!!

  1. Ah! I have tons of insight! :) We adopted from Ethiopia, and brought home our daughter in Jan of 08...she was three. Plenty of babies there need a home, too!
If you have any specific questions email me, or ask at my blog. Seriously...our international adoption totally changed my life...I couldn't recommend it enough!

  2. I don't see why you can't just steal one...less paperwork, kid doesn't have to wait around as long without parents.

  3. I know nothing, but hope you will share whatever you learn. We have acquaitances who adopted 2 children from the Ukraine, and another couple that adopted from Asia, but that was several years ago and I have never asked.

  4. I wish I could offer insight, but I have none whatsoever. But good luck in this all the same. ;)

  5. I just got your post on my blog...for Ethiopia you have to be married two years. And the parents aren't supposed to be more than 43yrs. old than the child...so you've got some time there! I know they do make excpetions for special needs kids, like those who are HIV+ (which is actually a very easy medical condition in our country to handle!)
Check out Adoption Advocates International...they are a very good agency. Or Gladney.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
